Our conception of leather is that it
is strong and resilient, capable of withstanding wear and tear.
This, in the main, is true but a great deal of the strength,
resilience and flexibility is due to to the use of specialist
interlinings to give support, strength and shape.
A major problem in applying interlinings to leather and suede
is that the heat and pressure required to achieve a good adhesion
is damaging to the leather itself, causes discoloration and
brittleness. This is why we at
Evans Textiles (Sales) LTD have developed a range of woven Interlinings
with specialist low melt resins specifically for this area.
These are available with different weights of substrate, different
resins and in Natural and Black.
Garment, hat and shirt interlinings
Interlinings are hidden, unseen
components in shirts and garments and yet these are very often
the parts that give the garments its style and appeal. Handle,
support, strength, drape and shape are all imparted by Interlinings,
whether they are sew-in or fusible. It is vital to the end result
that interlinings are carefully selected and this is where the
experience and knowledge of Evans Textiles (sales) Ltd is invaluable.
We have a long history of involvement in the development and
production of interlinings for the clothing industry and carry
a large and varied range of woven, knitted and weft inserted
interlinings, both sew-in and fusible. Our staff are highly
trained and capable of giving advice on the selection of an
interlining for your particular end use.
Fusible backings for roller and
Roman blinds
Working in conjunction with leading blind manufacturers we have
developed a range of fusible Interlinings suitable for backing
roller and Roman blinds.
Products include:
6075FR:100%
cotton backing with a low melt resin to facilitate easy fusing
to a wide range of face fabrics. This product is non-durable
flame retardant to BS5867: part 2: 1980 and is available from
stock in white, off white and cream. A 180cms wide roller blind
backing.
7630FR: Blackout: Polyester/cotton
fabric with a 3 pass fabric blackout, again with low
melt resin and non-durable flame retardant to BS5867: part 2:
1980 and available in white and cream, in both standard and
soft handles in 180 cms width. This provides good heat and sound
insulation as well as blackout properties for roller blinds.
928XL: 100% cotton lightweight for Roman blinds. This
product has the lowmelt resin and the non-durable finish of
the rollerblind backings on a lightweight cotton fabric to facilitate
the softness and drape required from Roman blinds. It is 183
cms wide and available in Cream from stock.
All our blind products are coated with special low melt resins
to enable them to be fused to as wide a range of face fabrics
as possible. However we do not recommend application
by hand iron as the area of a roller blind makes it difficult
to avoid creasing and an even pressure. They are all stabillised
and it may be, therefore, that your face fabric will need to
be pre-conditioned by passing it through your fusing press prior
to fusing to avoid the problem of differential shrinkage.
Buckrams and tiebacks
Buckrams and tiebacks satisfy a variety of needs and uses, from
softer, lightweight sew-ins to heavy, stiff sew-ins, single
side fusibles and double-side fusibles. They are used wherever
body and/or stiffness is required in pelmets, furniture skirtings
and tiebacks and are applied either as a loose inner (sew-in),
fused only to the face fabric (single side fusibles).
Our sew-in range is 100% cotton and is available in a range
of weights and handles and are both washable and dry-cleanable.
Our single and double side fusibles are all low melt resins,
capable of application by hand iron, and are both washable and
dry cleanable.
We have a range of fabrics suitable for tieback inners, both
woven and non-woven, sew-in, single side fusible and double
side fusible. In addition we carry a range of pre-cut tie back
shapes to match a customers own shape. Please ask our staff
for further details.
